On 10th June 2016, Mr. Mervyn Goddings, Country President & General Director of Rosneft Vietnam represented Rosneft to handover the equipment to donate to the Petroleum Faculty of Hanoi University of Mining and Geology. The Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometer (FTIR) and Attenuated Total Reflectance (ATR) equipment valued $50,000 is necessary for petrochemical laboratory at HUMG, helping to improve and speed of analyzing oil samples and a wide range of researches such as of the origin of oil, material science, chemical reaction mechanism, etc.

       In 2016, the Hanoi University of Mining and Geology (HUMG) reaches a special milestone – the celebration of 50th anniversary of its founding and achievements. After 50 years of relentless efforts, HUMG has emerged as a leading institution in Vietnam for higher education, training and scientific research in various fields of Earth Sciences such as geology, mining, geomatics engineering (surveying and mapping), oil and gas exploration and production, environmental engineering and other scientific disciplines such as electro-mechanics, information technology,business management.

DAAD Hanoi is organising a Science Slam on Friday evening, June 10th 2016 and looking for contestants.

Science Slams give scientists the opportunity to go on stage and present their research projects in a relaxed and entertaining way to a non-specialist audience. 

Master Program on Natural Resources - Environment and Climate Change Adaptation is a German Master of Science Exchange Program for South East Asia under bilateral cooperation between the Institute for Technology and Resources Management in the Tropics and Subtropics (ITT) at TH Köln (University of Applied Sciences) and Vietnam Academy of Water Resources (VAWR) with one exchange semester in Germany.

Since the academic year 2016-2017, students and staff from Hanoi University of Mining and Geology (HUMG) shall have the opportunity to participate in the international mobility for higher education students and staff within the Erasmus+ Partner Countries Programme at the AGH University of Science and Technology (AGH UST), Krakow, Poland.
